    Emigration to France, move to Bordeaux

    Fearing persecution by Spain's new government, he left for France with Leocadia Weiss and her daughter Rosarito; in May, under the pretext of taking the waters, he moved to Bordeaux.

  4. summer 1824

    Trip to Paris

    In the summer of 1824 he was in Paris, where he created "The Bullfight" and portraits of his friends Joaquín Ferrer and his wife.

  5. 1826

    Retirement with full salary

    He returned to Madrid and obtained the court's permission to retire while keeping his salary and the right to visit France.

  6. 16 April 1828

    Died
