    Proposal “Media Planning for the Postindustrial Society”

    In a proposal to the Rockefeller Foundation he uses the phrase “electronic super highway” for the future of telecommunications, which is credited as the first use of the term.

  2. 1974

    “Videa ’n’ Videology 1959–1973” is published

    The Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse publishes a volume of Paik’s early works and writings edited by Judson Rosebush.

  3. 20 March 1974

    His work is first screened in South Korea

    “Global Groove” is screened at the United States Information Center in Seoul; the artist Park Hyunki is in the audience, and the screening inspires him to experiment with video for the first time.

  4. 1976

    Retrospective at the Kölnischer Kunstverein

    A retrospective of Paik’s work at the Kölnischer Kunstverein in Cologne; major retrospectives in Paris, New York, San Francisco and Basel will follow.
