Founds the artist group GAP
In May 1971, together with Steffen Terk, Wolfgang Opitz and Harald Gallasch, Winkler becomes one of the founding members of the artist group GAP, which exists until 1976.

Penck takes part in Documenta 5 in Kassel (Fridericianum).
