Meanwhile, in the life of Lovis Corinth

The whole life
  1. March 1918

60th-Birthday Exhibition and the Title of Professor

The Berlin Secession devoted an exhibition of 140 oil paintings to Corinth on his 60th birthday; the Berlin Academy of Arts conferred on him the title of professor, and the National Gallery began assembling a systematic collection of his works.

  2. 1919

    A House on the Walchensee

He acquired a plot in the hamlet of Urfeld on the Walchensee, where his wife built a house; here began his late period of landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, which brought recognition and financial success.

  3. 1922

    Participation in the Venice Biennale

Corinth's works were shown at the Venice Biennale.
