    Bronze Medal at the London Salon

    The painting "The Conspiracy" was awarded a bronze medal at the London Salon — the artist's first international success.

  2. 1887

    A Winter in Berlin, New Acquaintances

    Moving to Berlin for the winter, he met Max Klinger, Walter Leistikow, and Karl Stauffer-Bern; it was most likely there that he painted his first self-portrait.

  3. 1888

    Adoption of the Name "Lovis Corinth"

    Returning to Königsberg after his Parisian disappointments, the artist adopted the name "Lovis Corinth."
