The whole life1945
Saves the Freedom Monument in Riga from demolition
In 1945 Mukhina was invited to Riga as an expert on the Freedom Monument, which was threatened with demolition; against the opinion of Party officials she firmly defended it, and the monument survived.

Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts
Mukhina became one of the first full members of the USSR Academy of Arts and sat on its presidium from 1947 to 1953.

A glass portrait of N. N. Kachalov at the Russian Museum
At an exhibition in the Russian Museum Mukhina showed a portrait of the chemist N. N. Kachalov cast in matte blue glass; her experiments in glass sculpture with Kachalov laid the aesthetic and technological foundations of Soviet architectural glassmaking.

“Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” becomes the Mosfilm emblem
From 1947 Mukhina's sculptural group has served as the emblem of the Mosfilm studio.
