  1. 1937

    Designs pavilions for the 1937 World Fair in Paris

    During the 1937 World Fair in Paris Delaunay participated in the design of the railway and air travel pavilions.

  2. 1939–1940

    Takes refuge in the Auvergne from the German invasion

    When the Second World War erupted the Delaunays moved to the Auvergne region to avoid the invading German forces; Robert, suffering from cancer, could not endure being moved around, and his health deteriorated.

  3. 25 October 1941

    Dies of cancer in Montpellier

    Delaunay died of cancer in Montpellier at the age of 56.
