The “Anti-Matter Manifesto”: “My father is Heisenberg”
In the manifesto Dalí wrote: “In the Surrealist period, I wanted to create the iconography of the interior world and the world of the marvelous, of my father Freud. Today, the exterior world and that of physics have transcended the one of psychology. My father today is Dr. Heisenberg.”

Church wedding to Gala
Dalí and Gala were married in a church ceremony at Sant Martí Vell. Their “tense, complex and ambiguous relationship” lasted over fifty years; Gala tolerated his dalliances with younger muses, secure in her place, and he went on painting adoring images of her as they aged.
