O obrazu
Hunters appear to have stopped beside Roman ruins in Jan Baptist Weenix's After the Hunt, painted about 1656 and now in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. A boy's hunting clothes and three dogs at the front of the scene suggest the men's occupation. Their quarry lies before the boy, who holds the net used for catching birds. The old building stands in a southern landscape. Against one of its columns sits a young beggar, waiting in the hope of receiving charity. Displayed in room 2.17, devoted to Dutch painters in Italy.
Slovy muzea
A company of men has come to a halt near the ruins of an ancient Roman building set in a southern landscape. Judging from the hunting costume of the boy and the three hounds in the foreground, they must be hunters. Before the boy lies the catch and in his hands is the net used to trap the birds. The young beggar sitting against one of the columns is hoping for alms.
