St James the Greater

The Saint stands holding his staff in his right hand an a book in his left. The scallop shell, his characteristic emblem as a pilgrim of Compostela, appears on his tall hat and again at the neck of his robe. This figure is French in origin, but the work is not sufficiently characterized to be able to make definite regional ascription.
