O rzeźbie

Augustin Pajou modeled Ceres around 1768–1770; the terracotta is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Its buff-coloured clay has a reddish patina. This 62.5-centimetre figure served as a model for a marble statuette once owned by the Duke of Choiseul. That finished marble is now in the Louvre in Paris.
