Thomas Hope (1769–1831), born in Amsterdam, was an architect, painter, writer and novelist who died in London. His 12 works in museums are at the Yale Center for British Art and the National Gallery of Art in Washington: a set of pen drawings of decorative details in the antique style and a pedestal for a Venus after Canova, made around 1822–1823. One is on view.
