The British engraver David Lucas (1802–1881) trained under Samuel William Reynolds and died in Fulham. Mezzotint landscapes of around 1830 dominate his 184 prints in museums: Spring (1829–1830), A Dell, Helmingham Park, Suffolk and View on the Orwell, both 1830, and the large plate of Hadleigh Castle, 1830–1832. The Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Rijksmuseum, the Yale Center for British Art and the Art Institute of Chicago hold the most. As many as 23 of them are on view today.
