View of the riverfront along the Ganges River in Varanasi. Several ghats line the river, each leading up to the stone buildings built above the riverbank. People sit on the ghat steps or work on docked boats that crowd the river. The minarets and domes of the Alamgir Mosque can be seen towering above the city buildings.
