この絵画について
『大使たち』（たいしたち、独: Die Gesandten）は、ドイツの画家ハンス・ホルバインにより1533年に描かれた絵画である。
この二人の「大使たち」は、ヘンリー8世のローマ・カトリックからの離脱を思いとどまらせようと、フランスからロンドンへ送られた外交官ダントヴィル（画面左）とその友人の司教セルヴ（右）である。
『ジャン・ド・ダントヴィルとジョルジュ・ド・セルヴの肖像』、『外交官たち』とも。ロンドンにあるナショナル・ギャラリーに収蔵されている。
本作は、イングランド王であるヘンリー8世の命令で描かれた。

In early 1532 he returned to England and resumed his career under the patronage of Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell; he painted portraits of the Lutheran merchants of the Hanseatic Steelyard.

Commissioned by the merchants of the Steelyard, he created the street tableau Mount Parnassus for the procession on the eve of Anne Boleyn's coronation on May 31, 1533.

Court Painter to Henry VIII
He became court painter to King Henry VIII: he painted portraits, designed court festivities, and produced designs for fountains, stained glass, jewelry, and objects for the royal household. By 1536 he was receiving an annual salary of thirty pounds.
