About the painting
『オルフェウスとエウリュディケーのいる風景』（オルフェウスとエウリュディケーのいるふうけい、仏: Paysage avec Orphée et Eurydice, 英: Landscape with Orpheus and Eurydice）は、フランス17世紀の巨匠ニコラ・プッサンが1648年ごろに制作したキャンバス上の油彩による風景画である。ローマにいたプッサンの庇護者ジャン・ポワンテル (Jean Pointel) に委嘱されたが、1685年にフランス王ルイ14世に取得され、現在、パリのルーヴル美術館に所蔵されている。

André Félibien becomes friend and pupil
In 1647 André Félibien, secretary of the French embassy in Rome, became a friend and painting student of Poussin; later he wrote one of the first biographies of the artist.

A trembling hand: his health declines
After 1650 Poussin’s health declined and a tremor in his hand grew worse — evidence of it is visible in his late drawings.
