Rechtsboven de prins van Phalsbourg, verkleed als legerleider (Mars?), staand op een triomfwagen. Voor deze kar lopen muzikanten en fakkeldragers. Linksonder een triomfwagen met luitspelers, getrokken door de Faam. Rechtsonder een wagen waar verschillende klassieke goden uitstijgen (o.a. Apollo, Jupiter, Saturnus, Mercurius). Boven de voorstelling een opschrift in het Frans. Deze prent is onderdeel van een serie illustraties voor een boek over de festiviteiten (o.a. een toernooi) in het hertogelijk paleis te Nancy op 14 februari 1627.

Declines to serve Louis XIII
King Louis XIII of France offers Callot a place at his court, but the artist declines; by one account, as a patriot of Lorraine he could not forgive the king for the devastation of his homeland by French troops.
