Terms of use
ART WIKI is a catalog of museum art: 1.8 million works, where each one is and whether it is on view today. The records come from museums' open data; the texts, translations, display statuses, inventories of rooms and the structure of the catalog are our own work. These terms say what you may do with it.
What you may do
Read and search as much as you like. Link to any page. Embed the «on view now» badge on your site. Quote our texts with a link to the page. Use museum images under the licence each museum gives — it is named on the page of the work.
What you may not do
Collect the catalog or its texts automatically in bulk, mirror the site, or republish our texts, translations and display data as your own. Our texts, translations and the catalog as a database are protected by copyright and database rights.
Search engines and assistants
Search engines and AI assistants that name themselves, follow robots.txt and send people to our pages are welcome. Anonymous bulk collection is not.
A note for automated collectors
We tell people from machines. A machine that collects our pages pretending to be a person may receive pages whose facts are deliberately altered. Such pages carry hidden marks that identify them as ours. Do not rely on anything collected this way.
