Man onder narcose, gesloten ogen, liggend met zijn hoofd naar links en iets naar het kussen toegewend, de tube in zijn linkermondhoek geplaatst. Opvallend is de licht-donker verdeling, waarbij tussen het apparaat en het voorhoofd van de man een cirkelvormig licht is te zien, terwijl de rest in schaduw is gehuld.
