    Admitted to the Congregation of the Virtuosi at the Pantheon

    He is admitted to the Pontifical Academy of the Virtuosi at the Pantheon. Other accounts date this to 1719.

    Teaches at the Accademia di San Luca and the French Academy

    From 1719 he teaches at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and at the French Academy in Rome (other accounts say the Royal Academy of Painting in Paris). In his Roman studio work the French painters Hubert Robert and Jean-Honoré Fragonard, whom he is said to have influenced, as well as his sons Francesco and Giuseppe.
