Früher galt das Objekt als Modell für die nach 1766 entstandene Bleistatue an der Fassade des Savoyischen Damenstiftes in Wien und damit als ein Werk Franz Xaver Messerschmidts. Aufgrund deutlicher Unterschiede zwischen dem mutmaßlichen Modell und der Ausführung, aber auch wegen grundsätzlicher Zweifel an der Autorschaft Messerschmidts schlug M. Pötzl-Malíková 1980 eine Zuschreibung an Lorenzo Mattielli vor. — [Georg Lechner, 2013]
