Adriaen Collaert (1560–1618) was a printmaker, copper engraver, draughtsman and publisher of the Southern Netherlands, a pupil of Philip Galle; he was born and died in Antwerp. About 1,450 of his prints are in museums, among them San Martino in Naples, Cooper Hewitt, the Slovak National Gallery, the Albertina, Yale and SMK. He worked largely in series: saints such as Begga, Mary of Egypt and John the Baptist, the seasons, with Summer and Autumn, and Ninus of Nineveh as the first king from the vision of Daniel.
