About the sculpture

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Beeld voorstellende Venus water scheppend. Op een ovale grond, het strand verbeeldend, ligt Venus op haar linker zijde met opgericht bovenlichaam, steunend op haar linker arm. Met de rechter hand schept zij met een schelp water. Achter haar staat een grote schenkkan. Haar klassieke kapsel wordt door een band samengehouden, het klassieke gewaad dat van de linker schouder is gegleden en de borst onbedekt laat, is aan een zijde open waardoor haar rechter been onbedekt blijft. Op het strans liggen enige schelpen. Gesigneerd
