About the work
Half-length portrait of Frida Kahlo looking in a mirror that has been embedded into an exterior wall. The mirror is rectangular with a semicircular top. Kahlo leans forward with one hand resting on the wall to peer into the mirror. In the reflection, her frontal view is visible, as well as the branches of the trees behind her. Kahlo wears a black lace high-neck dress, beaded earrings, and her hair tied up in a braided crown.
