    The Spanish Civil War

    Seymour works as a photojournalist on the fronts of the Spanish Civil War.

  2. 1947

    Founding Magnum Photos

    Seymour co-founds Magnum Photos with Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson and other photographers.

  3. 1954

    Leading Magnum

    Following Robert Capa’s death, Seymour becomes president of Magnum Photos.

  4. 1955

    The Family of Man

    Edward Steichen includes Seymour’s photographs in MoMA’s The Family of Man exhibition.
