May one see it?
Minneapolis, United States
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This gilt-wood statue, datable to the late 1800s, is seated with its hands placed upon its thigh. The long beard and large earlobes (derived from the Buddha’s attributes), together with his crown, elaborate official robe, and solemn features, identify the statue as a Daoist god.
