From 1873 to 1880 Boudin and his wife lived in Bordeaux.

Travels to Belgium, the Netherlands and southern France
His growing reputation allowed Boudin to travel widely in these years, visiting Belgium, the Netherlands and the south of France.

The First Impressionist Exhibition
Boudin showed alongside Monet and his young friends at the First Impressionist Exhibition, though he never considered himself a radical or an innovator.
