  2. 1887, 1892 and 1893

    More trips to Paris

Korovin visits Paris again in 1887, 1892 and 1893; the painting of the French Impressionists makes a great impression on him.

  3. 1894

    A northern journey with Serov

With his friend Valentin Serov, Korovin travels to the North — the Kola Peninsula, northern Norway and Swedish Lapland; the trip yields the landscapes Norwegian Port, St. Triphon’s Brook in Pechenga, Hammerfest: Aurora Borealis, The Coast at Murmansk and Arkhangelsk Port on the Dvina. Other accounts call it his second northern trip, coinciding with the construction of the Northern Railway.

  4. 1895–1898

Three more trips to the North

In 1895 Korovin repeats the journey with N. A. Prakhov and the painter N. V. Dosekin, in 1897 he travels again with Serov, and in 1898 with N. A. Klodt, preparing for the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris.
