About the sculpture
An identical example of Park Circle Summer Frolic, intended to be a centerpiece, was in Vollard's personal collection. Its decorative quality demonstrates the belief of Bonnard and his fellow artists, the Nabis, that art should be integrated into everyday life.

Trip Through Spain with Vuillard
In 1905 Bonnard traveled through Spain with Édouard Vuillard, followed by journeys to Belgium, Holland, England, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia, and the south of France.
June 1909
Visiting Manguin in Saint-Tropez
In June 1909 Bonnard stayed with the painter Manguin at the Villa Demière in Saint-Tropez; View of Saint-Tropez, or The Alley, painted there, later formed the basis of the central panel of the Morozov triptych.
January 1910
Morozov's Commission for the Mediterranean Triptych
In January 1910 Ivan Morozov, through the Bernheim-Jeune gallery, commissioned from Bonnard a large triptych for the staircase of his Moscow mansion on Prechistenka Street.
1924
Retrospective at the Galerie Druet
In 1924 Bonnard was honored with a retrospective of sixty-eight works at the Galerie Druet.

Marriage to Marthe
In 1925 Bonnard married Marthe de Méligny, with whom he had lived since 1893.
