Finally settles in Annet-sur-Marne
In 1961 Vasarely moves from Arcueil, the Paris suburb where he opened an atelier after the Second World War, and finally settles in Annet-sur-Marne in the Seine-et-Marne département.

“Folklore planétaire”: the palette goes public
In 1963 Vasarely presents his palette to the public under the name “Folklore planétaire”; out of this plastic alphabet grows serial art, an endless permutation of forms and colours worked out by his assistants.

In 1964 Vasarely receives the Guggenheim Prize in New York.

Grand Prizes in São Paulo and Ljubljana, an arts order
In 1965 Vasarely wins the Grand Prize at the 8th São Paulo Biennale and at the 6th International Graphic Art Exhibition in Ljubljana, the gold medal of the Paris society for the promotion of art and industry, and is made a knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
