In the museum's own words — in Dutch

De vrouwelijke personificatie van de Matigheid (Temperantia) staande met het bit van een paardentoom in de mond, een klok op het hoofd en een bril in de hand. Zij wordt omringd door allerlei scènes waarin deze deugd wordt geïllustreerd. Linksboven theaterspel en een musicerende mensen. Linksonder tellen mensen geld. Rechtsonder leerlingen en hun leermeester. Middenachter een astronoom met een meetinstrument aan het werk. Onder de voorstelling een tweeregelig onderschrift in het Latijn.
