    Professor of performance art in Braunschweig

    From 1997 to 2004 she was professor of performance art at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Braunschweig.

    Married: Paolo Canevari

  3. 2006–2008

    Film: “Balkan Erotic Epic” and “Dangerous Games”

    In 2006 she directed the short “Balkan Erotic Epic” for Destricted, a compilation of erotic films, and in 2008 “Dangerous Games” for the film project “Stories on Human Rights”.

  4. 2007

    Founds the Marina Abramović Institute

    She founded the Marina Abramović Institute (MAI), a non-profit foundation for performance art focused on durational work and the “Abramović Method”; in 2007 she bought for it a building of 1933 in Hudson, New York, formerly a theatre and community tennis centre.
