Monographic Exhibition
A monographic exhibition of Shishkin's work was held, at which the painting "A River Backwater in the Forest" may have been shown under the title "Meri-Hovi, the Estate of Mr. Riedinger."

Head of the Academy's Landscape Studio
He was invited to head the teaching landscape studio of the Academy of Arts after the new charter came into force, but for various reasons held the post only briefly.

He became a full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts (under the new charter).
