    Designing computer casings

    In the 1980s he again ventures into industrial design, designing two computer exteriors: the OHIO computer prototype (for the Swedish firm Isotron, 1984) and the DIAB DS-101 (for Dataindustrier AB, 1986).

  3. 1987

    A Quantel Paintbox in the studio

    As part of a television project, the 1987 BBC series “Painting with Light,” he is introduced to the Quantel Paintbox and subsequently buys one for his studio to produce and modify his work.

  4. 1988

    “Work in Progress,” the “Ulysses” etchings in Derry

    The Orchard Gallery in Derry stages an exhibition and publication entitled “Work in Progress,” showing the copper-plate etchings Hamilton had been making since the 1940s.

  5. 1989–2006

    The São Paulo, Gwangju and Shanghai biennials

    He takes part in the São Paulo Art Biennial (1989), the Gwangju Biennale (2004) and the Shanghai Biennale (2006).
