In the museum's own words — in Dutch

De heilige Augustinus knielt voor een visioen van Christus aan het kruis. Een lichtstraal raakt hem in zijn hart. Op de grond liggen zijn attributen: de bisschopsmijter en kromstaf en inktpot met pen. Onderaan in de marge een vers uit Augustinus' Belijdenissen in het Latijn.
