Was one of the founders and, from 1750, the first president of the Venetian Academy of Fine Arts.

Arrival in Würzburg
At the invitation of Prince-Bishop Karl Philipp von Greiffenclau, he arrived in Würzburg, where he remained for three years.
1753
Return to Venice; President of the Paduan Academy
Returned from Würzburg to Venice; was elected president of the Paduan Academy and received numerous commissions at home and abroad.
1758
Unrealized Commission for the Winter Palace
Through the architect Rastrelli, with the support of Chancellor Vorontsov, he received a commission from Empress Elizabeth of Russia for ceiling paintings for the Great Hall and the church of the Winter Palace, which was never carried out.

Departure for Spain at the Invitation of Charles III
Having accepted King Charles III's invitation to work at the Royal Palace of Madrid, he set out for Spain with his sons Giandomenico and Lorenzo; he never returned to Venice.
