Move to His Last Apartment on Rue de Furstenberg
Delacroix moved to an apartment at 6 rue de Furstenberg, where he lived until his death; it now houses the Musée National Eugène Delacroix.

Last Painting at the Paris Salon
Delacroix's last painting, exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1859, went practically unnoticed, which darkened the artist's final years.

Severe Throat Infection
The winter of 1862–1863 was extremely hard: Delacroix suffered from a serious throat infection that worsened over the season; by July 1863 his doctor could no longer do anything to help.
