The whole life1832
A studio shared with Sødring
Købke shared a studio with landscape painter Frederik Hansen Sødring and painted his portrait.
late 1837
Marriage to Susanna Krohn
Late in 1837, Købke married Susanna Cecilie Krohn; he soon painted a portrait of his young wife.
1838
A journey to Italy
With an academy travel grant, Købke set off for Italy with decorative painter Georg Hilker. They reached Rome by the end of the year.
1846
The academy declines his application
Købke’s application for admission to the academy was rejected; he had submitted one of his Italian landscapes with it.
