Solo exhibition at the Buchholz Gallery, New York
Arp visited New York for a solo exhibition at the Buchholz Gallery, which coincided with general international recognition of his work.
1950
A Harvard relief and a commission for UNESCO
In 1950 Arp was invited to execute a relief for the Harvard University Graduate Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts; he was later also commissioned to do a mural at the UNESCO building in Paris.
1954
Grand Prize for sculpture at the Venice Biennale
At the 1954 Venice Biennale Arp received the Grand Prize for sculpture.
