Returns to printmaking in her seventies
Bourgeois returned to printmaking after a long hiatus, in her seventies, encouraged first by print publishers: she set up her old press, added a second and worked with printers who came to her house. Over her life she created approximately 1,500 printed compositions.

New dealers: Anglim, Greve, Hufkens, Hauser & Wirth
Bourgeois began working with the Paule Anglim gallery in San Francisco in 1987, with Karsten Greve in Paris in 1990, with Xavier Hufkens in Brussels in 1996 and with Hauser & Wirth in 1997.

The death of her son Michel
In 1990 Bourgeois’s first son, Michel, died.

Donates her print archive to MoMA
In 1990 Bourgeois decided to donate the complete archive of her printed work to the Museum of Modern Art.
