In the museum's own words — in Dutch

In het midden een portretbuste van de Romeinse dichter Horatius op een sokkel. De sculptuur wordt met een lauwerkrans gekroond door Faam, die op haar bazuin blaast. Rechts een allegorische figuur met schildersbenodigdheden in haar handen. Haar hoofddeksel is versierd met een lauwerkrans en een sfinx als symbool van wijsheid. Links een allegorische figuur met een instrument in haar hand.
