    Exhibition: Documenta III

  2. 1965

    First comprehensive exhibition in Turin

The Museum of Modern Art in Turin (Galleria d’Arte Moderna) organises the first full exhibition of his work.

  3. 1967

Returns to Pembrokeshire after twenty years

For an Italian television documentary he visits Pembrokeshire for the first time in more than twenty years and finds new inspiration in its landscape, notably the estuaries at Sandy Haven and Picton; until his death he works there regularly. Living abroad had cost him some standing in Britain, and the return to Welsh motifs went some way toward restoring his reputation as a leading British artist.
