Ado Vabbe (1892–1961), an Estonian painter, printmaker and graphic artist who also taught, was born in Tapa, studied at Anton Ažbe's art school and died in Tartu. About 860 of his works are in the Art Museum of Estonia in Tallinn and the Tartu Art Museum, among them paintings, watercolours, prints and illustrations but mostly drawings. Figures fill them: a female nude, a mother with her child, a wine drinker, a satyr, a dancing couple and a portrait of a woman.
