Claude-Joseph Désiré Charnay war ein französischer Forschungsreisender, Fotograf und Altamerikanist, der sowohl für seine Erkundungen Mexikos und Mittelamerikas als auch für den Einsatz der Fotografie zur Dokumentation seiner Entdeckungen bekannt war.
