Becomes an active printmaker
While living in France she works in the ateliers of Georges Visat and Pierre Chave and makes work for limited-edition artists’ books by such poets as Alain Bosquet, René Crevel, Lena Leclerq and André Pieyre de Mandiargues.

Her canvases “splinter”: a break with Surrealism
Working in Paris and Huismes, in the mid-1950s she moves away from Surrealism: her images grow fragmented and prismatic. In her words, around 1955 her canvases literally splintered, as if she had broken the mirror.

A house of their own in Touraine
From 1955 the couple live in a house of their own in Touraine.
