Sketch of a boar for an heraldic badge in a production of Shakespeare's Richard III. The boar was the symbol of the historical Richard and is referenced in the play where Richard is spoken of as the boar and, abusively by Queen Margaret, as an 'elvish-mark'd, abortive, rooting hog'.
