
Vasily Kandinsky法国, 1866–1944Изящные перовые рисунки, так называемые багатели, изображающие незатейливые сценки прошедших эпох, дам и кавалеров в старинных нарядах, Кандинский создавал на протяжении 1900–1910-х годов. В них художник отдавал дань пассеистическим настроениям эпохи, выступая в едином ключе с художниками «Мира искусства». Удивительно, что начиная с середины 1910-х фигуративные композиции возникали у Кандинского наряду и параллельно с беспредметными работами. Датировка многих подобных рисунков затруднена, поскольку их стилистика на протяжении почти двух десятилетий неизменна, а круг аналогий достаточно широк. В настоящий момент наиболее убедительной кажется датировка началом 1900-х: абсолютно идентичная женская фигура изображена в утраченной, но известной по фотографии гуаши «Провинция» 1906 года и на нескольких подготовительных рисунках к ней в альбоме 1905–1906 годов, хранящемся в Центре Помпиду (Париж).

His first exhibition appearance, in Odessa
At the ninth exhibition of the Society of South Russian Artists in Odessa Kandinsky exhibited for the first time: the painting “Odessa. The Port” and a couple of studies painted some years earlier.

From 1900 Kandinsky travelled widely — to North Africa, Italy and France, with visits to Odessa and Moscow — and took part in the exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Artists.

The Academy of Fine Arts: Franz von Stuck's class
In 1900 Kandinsky entered the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and until 1901 studied under Franz von Stuck.

Founds the Phalanx association and school
Kandinsky founded the artists' association Phalanx and, within it, a painting school where he taught.
1902
Becomes close to Gabriele Münter
In summer the Phalanx school went to Kallmünz, and there the thirty-five-year-old Kandinsky grew close to a twenty-six-year-old student, Gabriele Münter. Their relationship was never formalized, although he divorced his first wife only in 1911.
