    The 1991 painting is auctioned at Christie's in London for £7.66 million.

    “No Foreign Lands” at the Scottish National Gallery

    Doig's first major exhibition in his home country takes place at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh. It is critically acclaimed and shows works from the previous ten years, mostly made during his residence in Trinidad.

    The first major exhibition in North America

    The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, together with the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, presents Doig's exhibition, the first major one held in North America.

    A retrospective at Fondation Beyeler and Louisiana
