Gains fame outside Munich with allegorical and emblematic compositions for the Viennese publisher Gerlach & Schenk, to whose renown other young artists such as Max Klinger and Gustav Klimt also contribute.

In another collection from the same publisher, containing illustrations and vignettes, he successfully continues his compositions on classical themes.
