Om målningen

Bacon painted his final Triptych in 1991; the three-part work belongs to New York's Museum of Modern Art. Francis Bacon's face appears at the right, while a Brazilian racing driver's face occupies the left, each above muscular lower bodies. A mass of flesh projects from a black recess at the centre. Each oil-painted linen panel is nearly two metres tall.
